Conformity of AdV Metainformation System with INSPIRE

Within the scope of the INSPIRE initiative to establish a European Infrastructure for Spatial Information, the metadata implementing rules have been published in the Official Journal of the EU on 4 December 2008. This Regulation is binding in its entirety, is directly applicable in all Member States and has entered into force on 24.12.2008. The time allowed to create metadata for spatial data sets corresponding to the topics listed in Annexes I and II will end on 3.12.2010. 

The ISO-conformant Metainformation System of the AdV will be prepared for acquisition and provision of INSPIRE-conformant metadata by extending the AdV metadata profile to the ISO classes DQ_ConformanceResult and MD_SecurityConstraints. The mandatory entries for metadata elements and metadata datasets will then be tested and conformance with the required conditions will be evaluated. 

For data metadata sets at least one keyword from the multilingual thesaurus GEMET shall be given referring to the annexed topics I to III. For service metadata sets the keywords shall definitely be chosen from the Implementing Rules List Part D4, and the INSPIRE Service Type from the Implementing Rules List Part D3. 

Implementation of the Technical Guidance Document for INSPIRE Discovery Services will be done by extending the Catalogue Service of the AdV Metainformation System with the INSPIRE search attributes and the mandatory service operations Manager.Transaction and/or Manager.Harvest.
