Extended User Identification for GDZ Web Services

In the past the user identification for a controlled access to the GeoDatenZentrum’s (GDZ) web services was possible via

• IP addresses of the computers and/or via
• special user identifiers.

The user identification could now be extended to evaluated

• client certificates.

All the three identification types may be applied alone or as an optional combination, including even certain alternatives.

For user identification via IP address the open protocol HTTP is applicable. An operation with a user identifier which may be given as call parameter or as a component of the call address (URL) for the service, and the client certificate need a coded communication via HTTPS.
