Data Aquisition

This activity comprises the acquisition, evaluation, editing and provision of revision documents for the maintenance of all Digital Landscape Models (DLM) and Digital Topographic Maps (DTK) of BKG as well as the supply of supraregional revision data needed by the survey authorities of the single Länder. Further, a quality control with respect to the contents of the large-scale DLM and DTK of the Länder is performed.

In accordance with the principle of causation, the change data are supplied to the so-called Topographic Information Management (TIM), causers operating at the supra-regional or federal level (as e.g. DB/German Railways Network, Federal Agency for Road Construction, Federal Network Agency, or Water and Shipping Administrations) supply their revision data directly to BKG, whereas regional causers of data changes deliver their revision data to the responsible Land survey authorities.

BKG is editing the supraregional change data and delivers them as areally referenced data to the respective Land survey agencies.

These provide in turn data and documents to BKG for the purpose of updating the small-scale DLM and DTK of the Länder is performed..

Exchange of data between BKG and the Land survey authorities predominantly refers to the topographic elements and attributes specified as possessing utmost topicality in the ATKIS® Feature Type Catalog which, depending on their importance, shall present a topicality of 3-, 6- or 12- months.

For updating the relevant products, (e.g. DLM1000 and DTK500) different visualizations are made available from the digital revision sheet.
